Mechanical Systems Design

Vipac have considerable experience over a range of projects regarding Mechanical Systems Design including:

ALR2002 RWR
The British Aerospace Australia (BAeA) ALR2002 Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) is an Australian design incorporating the latest EW technology. It is the preferred RWR suite for the Wedgetail & Echidna programmes and has significant ex-port potential.

Vipac has been responsible for over two years for the system and detail level mechanical design of the RWR to be fitted to the F-111 air-craft. This work included:

  • Definition of interfaces, me-chanical configurations & ECS integration
  • Design of electronic packaging for the mechanical, thermal and acoustic environments.

    Vipac's work has been extended to system & detail level mechanical design for the F/A-18 aircraft and continues with supply of test ser-vices for verification of design con-cepts.

    NULKA
    Vipac was responsible for the structural design of the NULKA transportation case for BAeA, to meet drop, shock, vibration and thermal environments.
