The Vipac Plumbing Products Laboratory with its wide range of equipment and experience is also capable of performing many custom test methods for quality assurance, and/or research and development of products.
Vipac utilises calibrated pressure transmitters and flow meters coupled with high-speed data acquisition units to accurately measure and record pressure loss through valves, pipes, fittings etc.
Vipac has numerous burst pressure rigs allowing hydrostatic pressure testing up to 150MPa at ambient or nominated temperatures.
Vipac has the ability to maintain a constant hydrostatic pressure within high accuracy for long periods to determine a products long-term integrity against deformation, creeping or leakage. Testing can be run for as many hours as required, at ambient, elevated or reduced temperatures.
Vipac’s pressure pulsation rig allows the ability to simulate water hammer conditions. Using a PLC controlling system, the frequency, duration and severity can all be changed and maintained with great accuracy. A high-speed data acquisition unit also allows for a trace of each pulsation to be recorded.
Vipac has the ability to utilise equipment to measure and record tensional and compressive forces, as well as rotational torque. Sophisticated equipment allows the force and/or loading to be applied at a specific rate until the desired outcome is reached, such as first signs of cracking, plastic deformation or catastrophic failure. Testing can be performed at ambient or temperature controlled conditions.
