The environmental and architectural design award of the highest order is appropriate for this state-of-the-art public building.The flagship project is the world’s first convention centre to be awarded a 6 star Green Star environmental
rating, making it one of the most efficient large structures
in the world, leading the way in best practice, innovation
and sustainability.
Vipac scope of works included microclimate issues covering the influence on outdoors comfort by wind exposures with sun and shade, and engineering structural parameters including design wind loads and load optimisation for the main buildings, the integral footbridge
and the adjacent
“south wharf” development.

Green Star Accredited Professionals
James Conomos, Vasos Alexandrou, Martin Wilson and Abhilas Aitharaju
was awarded with the Green Star Accredited Professional. 
ACARP Research Excellence Award
Every two years the ACARP program recognises highachievers with the awarding of ACARP Research Excellence Awards. MIngfei Luo’s project was based on the development
of Smart,Cheap Automonous Monitoring Sensor System for Variable Speed Machinery.
The Smart team members for this project were David Jenkins,
Yan Wu and Benjamin Smith.
