At the forefront of the Greenstar rating system, the ‘Pixel’ building achieved all five innovation credits and is Australia’s first carbon neutral office building. Dylan Brady, Director of architectural firm Studio 505, will discuss the meaning of going green and how this landmark development will be a stepping stone to a greener future. Complimenting new green building design is the importance of upgrading and improving the sustainability of existing buildings. Understanding the responsibility of driving change and creating a sustainable future, Krista Milne from the City of Melbourne, will discuss the councils’ role in helping building owners obtain finance for retrofit works that will help lower carbon emissions, save water, reduce energy use and ‘Make It Work’.
