Operating 24 hours a day, refrigerators’ energy efficiency is critical, both to reduce our carbon footprint and our household energy bills. Of equal importance is ensuring they are also safe.

Vipac’s Refrigeration Test Chambers are designed to test domestic refrigerators and meet the requirements of local AS/NZS 4474 and international IEC 62552 standards, both of which Vipac holds NATA accreditation for. The chambers enable a total of 21 domestic refrigerators to be tested concurrently– 12 in Melbourne and 9 in Sydney.

Technological advancements such as enhanced fan technology, smarter control logics and the introduction of PCBs make refrigerators effectively 70% more efficient than what they were 30 years ago. According to Government research, 616kWh/year (67%) of energy savings are achieved when old refrigerators are replaced with new, high efficiency ones. Click here for the full report.
