Worker comfort is of highest importance for industrial facilities and one of the many factors to be considered is the acoustic environment. For nearly 30 years, the company has gained extensive experience through multi-disciplinary projects throughout the world. Vipac offers a wide range of acoustic consulting services, including:

  • occupational noise consulting services to minimise adverse effects on facility staff, including measurement & management of occupational noise exposure.
  • preparation of new plant design guidelines and specifications for noise control. Forecasting the effectiveness and costs of noise control treatments as well as preparation of environmental impact statements for Statutory Bodies and Councils, including extensive noise measurements.
  • industrial noise surveys as part of hearing conservation programs to identify problem areas and appropriate noise control solutions. These range from simple remedial design modifications such as the specification of acoustic doors and silencers to complete package designs for projects including machine enclosures, silencers or acoustic treatments to buildings.
  • use of sound intensity measurement and mapping to identify component sound power levels and enable source ranking. This allows the implementation of cost effective noise controls.
  • modification of process parameters at source; design of blowdown and steam silencers; pneumatic silencing; design and optimisation of enclosure panels; fan design.
  • design of 'noise secure' buildings to minimise noise break-out to neighbouring residences and to prevent future problems. Vipac can evaluate noise emissions and can design controls to ensure compliance with Environmental Regulations.
