Plumbing Products Testing Facility

VIPAC Engineers & Scientists Ltd are able to offer a wide range of Testing facilities coupled with Design and Development support.

VIPAC's Melbourne facility is endorsed by NATA in the areas of Mechanical Testing, Laboratory Acoustics and Pressure Gauge Calibration.

The following methods of testing to Australian Standards are available, including AS6400-WELS.

Plumbing and Drainage Fittings
  • Abrasion Resistance
  • Chemical & Stain Resistance
  • Dimensional Checks
  • Pressure Tests
  • Spreadability
  • Strength
  • Torque Tests
  • Thermal Endurance
  • UV Degradation
  • Water Absorption
  • Water Tightness
  • Flow Properties up to 160 l/m

    Pressure Measuring Devices

  • Calibration of both industrial and test standard and differential pressure gauges in the range 100kPa to 14MPa to AS 1349.

    Acoustic & Vibration Measurement

  • Sound Absorption in the range 100Hz to 5kHz
  • Sound Transmission Loss Measurement of building partitions over the frequency range 125Hz to 4kHz in one third octave bands and determination of Sound Transmission class.
  • Determination of Sound Power levels of noise sources by a survey method.
  • Determination of Sound Power levels of noise sources (broad-band) in reverberation rooms over the frequency range 50Hz to 10kHz in octave and one third octave bands.
  • Near Field Measurements
  • Measurements of Steady State Vibration.
  • Vibration Surveys: Whole-body vibrations measurements and Machine Vibration measurements.
  • Special Purpose Testing
VIPAC are able to provide a wide range of special purpose testing. Our existing facility enables us to provide fast, efficient and cost effective service.
  • Automatic Control: We are able to automatically control and monitor testing 24 hours a day.
  • Permanent Records: We can provide permanent records of data during testing, thus enabling you to get the most information possible from your testing.
  • Environmental Control: In our laboratory, temperature can be controlled within ±1°C in the range 18-25°C, and relative humidity can be kept below 55%.
  • Design and Construction: Our qualified mechanical, electronic and acoustic engineers can design and build special purpose rigs to suit your testing needs.
  • High Temperature Testing: Automatically controlled temperatures in the range 45-180°C.

    Product Development
VIPAC's Melbourne office is staffed by an experienced team of qualified Engineers and Scientists who are able to provide a comprehensive range of Product Design and Development skills. Specialised areas of expertise include Finite Element Analysis, Advanced Mechanical Systems Design, Signal Processing, Dynamic Simulation, and Acoustics.
