Vipac monitors over 530 flow computers on behalf of gas distribution companies, for gas retail businesses throughout Australia. Flow Computers record and store gas flow readings including Maximum Daily Quantity (MDQ) and Maximum Hourly Quantity (MHQ), time stamped for hour, day and month, with comparisons to the same period of the previous month. These computers collect all raw meter information, correcting the results for pressure, temperature, impurities and supercompressiblity. From this data, a Flow Profile is created and stored, based on hourly readings of Pressure, Temperature and Volume (both corrected and uncorrected). Reliable and fast, the system permits up to 600 days of data to be archived based on hourly readings (less, should more regular monitoring and reporting be required).
The Flow Profile capability provides the means for validation of load profiles for contract clients, assisting in energy forecasting, billing and energy provision contract negotiation.
The Flow Computers typically used in the Victorian Gas Industry can all be serviced and maintained by the Vipac Instrumentation team
