Software Engineer – Melbourne

Vipac’s wholly owned subsidiary, AutoTest Products Pty Ltd, is a 100% Australian owned developer and manufacturer of automotive testing and measuring products distributed within Australia and overseas.

Seeking Permanent Software Engineer to perform the following:

The Successful candidate will:

  • Have strong previous experience in firmware development using C/C++ for Atmel, TI, ARM processors
  • Have experience with sensors & embedded technologies
  • Have industry experience in developing PC software using C/C++, C#, VB.NET
  • Experience in app development (android) will be highly regarded
  • Be passionate about software development and up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
  • Have an understanding of web standards and technologies.
  • You should ideally have an Engineering background and previous experience working in a product development environment.
  • Enjoy exercising your versatility in the project types you’ll tackle.
  • May be quietly ambitious and would one day like to step into a team lead role.
  • Hold a software engineering degree, computer science degree or a related discipline, and at least 4 years relevant experience.

Environmental Test Engineer – Melbourne

In line with our continued growth, we are currently seeking an independent and strongly motivated graduate mechanical engineer to become a part of our rapidly growing team. The Graduate Project Engineer position will involve testing of products and devices in accordance to Australian and International standards. The role involves the use of scientific equipment, mathematical spreadsheets and communications to clients to meet tight deadlines

The role in time for the successful applicant will include (but not limited) to the following:

  • Prepare and undertake laboratory testing to various standards
  • Design and coordinate testing apparatus to complete laboratory testing
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Participate in Strategic activities and plans
  • Participate and maintain continuous improvement activities

With facilities and expertise in Automotive, Environmental, Air-conditioning Thermodynamics and Solar Thermal, the role will offer the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to further grow Vipac’s market share and technical leadership in the field of component testing within Australia and overseas.

In order to achieve this successfully, initiative and communication skills will be required, along with a solid background in heat transfer and thermodynamics. It is expected that the successful applicant will not only have a strong academic background, but also significant hands-on skills, successful time management, and attention to detail.

Previous experience with testing, hands on mechanical skills, refrigeration systems, and measuring instrument and control systems would be advantageous.

Essential qualifications

The successful candidate will have degree in Mechanical engineering or similar with the ability to work with a mixed team of technical and commercial staff in a competitive and fast paced environment, strong written and oral communication skills.

Sales Engineer – Melbourne

We are looking for a confident, ambitious and experienced Sales Engineer to drive, promote and sell our specialist services across Building & Infrastructure, Environmental Testing and Utilities markets. This is a key business development role working with a wide range of clients where our services extend into consulting for acoustics, environmental and vibration monitoring and structural analysis.

The role based in our Port Melbourne office encompasses managing and developing both existing and new clients, working with a group of highly qualified specialist engineers in maintaining a continuous pipeline of opportunities.

You will need to display excellent communication skills a team spirit and a willingness to do whatever it takes to provide great customer service, and expand the customer base.

Essentials

  • Successful track record of developing and executing business strategies and revenue targets
  • Should have at least 3-5 years’  experience in related industries with a strong client network so you “hit the ground running”

Vibration/Acoustics Engineer – Sydney

Vipac is seeking a Vibration/Acoustic Engineer, experienced in structural dynamics, machine vibration condition monitoring, machine vibration troubleshooting, structural fatigue analysis, and finite element analysis for our Sydney office.

Key attributes

  • The ability to manage and implement structural dynamics, and machine vibration condition monitoring projects.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and standards, and experience in machine vibration condition monitoring, including alignment, balancing, and machine vibration diagnostics.
  • Experience in structural dynamics analysis including stress calculations, fatigue analysis, and use of Finite Element Analysis tools.
  • The capacity to operate with a high level of autonomy within the requirements of each specific project.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality vibration consulting services on highly technical machine vibration and structural dynamics projects.
  • Project management and client liaison.
  • Work cohesively within a small group of peers towards delivery of group budgets, including involvement and review of business plans, business development activities, client management, and generation and conversion of proposals.

Essentials

  • Degree level qualification in engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Extensive experience in the management of structural vibration machine vibration troubleshooting projects.
  • Project management coordination and organisational abilities including a demonstrated track record of on time and on budget delivery performance.

Business Development/Relationship Manager – Melbourne

AutoTest’s products are used by garages, workshops, regulatory authorities and service testing stations. We are looking for a confident, ambitious and experienced Business Development / Relationship Manager to sell our Products via our chain of distributors. You will play a key role in supporting and expanding our network of distributors and maintaining a continuous pipeline of opportunities. This is a challenging role that will expose you to automotive test equipment verification and automotive emissions technologies in Australia and around the world.

As a Business Development / Relationship Manager, you will be handling incoming sales enquiries and providing technical support on our electronic test and measuring instruments. The job is varied and challenging with plenty of scope to use the knowledge acquired in your tertiary studies.

Key responsibilities

  • Effectively selling AutoTest’s products to prospective clients
  • Identifying and developing distribution and sales opportunities
