Recently, Vipac had the pleasure of speaking at the Society of Automotive Engineers – Australasia’s (SAE-A) ‘Modifying a Light Vehicle or Motorcycle’ seminar.

Speaking to a sell-out audience with standing room only, our presentation covered the common ‘traps’ and Do’s and Don’ts of vehicle modifications, including how consulting engineers and test facilities like ours can be used to support projects. Providing an insight into the IM240 Emissions Test, we demonstrated that this test is pertinent to all those involved with vehicle modification- from owners, modifiers and service technicians, to component suppliers and manufacturers.

For more information about the IM240 Test or for those that missed out on the seminar, feel free to download the seminar slides here.

The catalyst for running this seminar is the lack of a single roadmap to understand how the State Registration requirements, Commonwealth codes of practice, Australian Design Rules and Australian Standards play a role in a modified vehicle’s registration. SAE-A will be running more of these seminars throughout the year across Australia- see their website for more details: http://www.saea.com.au/.
