Project: Four Seasons, Hong Kong

Features: Exuding style and class, Four Seasons Hong Kong is part of an impressive global network of over 100 hotels worldwide. In 2015, Forbes Travel Guide awarded the hotel a 5-star rating, one of only three hotels in the world to achieve this rating. It is also the first hotel in the world to boast a Chinese restaurant with 3 Michelin stars. For 9 consecutive years, chef Lung King Heen has continued to retain the accolade and until recently, was Hong Kong’s only 3 Michelin star chef.

Challenge: To carry out a fully comprehensive thermographic inspection throughout the Four Seasons Hong Kong hotel and to report the findings accordingly.

Vipac’s Role: Using high speed, high resolution infrared scanning systems to create immediate temperature maps of machines and electrical systems in areas such as the filtration plant room, pool pump house, main switch room and chiller plant room.

Benefit: Vipac’s specialised solutions and tailored recommendations ensured there were no badly made joints, loose connections or faulty components that would result in a complete system failure or worse, a fire. This offered the client reassurance that the hotel would continue operating and that staff and guests would be safe. It also saved time that would otherwise have been spent in a lengthy mechanical inspection which, in many cases, is either too late to prevent a failure or a fire, or is too difficult to achieve due to limited access.
