Project: Keong Emas (Golden Snail), IMAX Theatre
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Features: One of the largest screens in the world, measuring at 21.5m2 x 29.3m2, with a shape resembling a golden snail.
Challenge: Size and aspect ratio, sheer volume of the space with a 930-seat capacity.
Vipac’s Role: To design, supply, install and commission the theatre sound system. Acoustic design of the auditorium to achieve optimal integration between the room acoustics and the sound system.
Benefit: Achieved a high frequency response through both mathematical and physical modelling – to the extent that the audience heard the hang gliding sequence for the first time in the film being screened at the time.
